Wildman Of Borneo Promo Pilot Shooting "The Journey Start"

The making of the video promo of the "Wildman Of Borneo" kicked start on the 15th December 2009. The 1st episode of the series (The Pilot) started at Buayan & Terian. We start our journey at 6am from KK and head to Penampang district area called Sugud where we started the rough road.

From Sugud, the journey was tough but the beautiful greeneries and the landscapes scenes kept us going. We had to crossed several rivers with the 4x4 vehicle until to one river that we cannot cross. That is where the road's end. That where they called the raft point, using a bamboo raft to cross the river then start the trekking journey part. The bamboo raft place was located at Timpayasah Village and we head to the next village called Tiku then ended at Buayan. As we started from Timpayasah, the rain started to come. The rain was so hard that we couldn't film anything at all, we need to protect our gear and reach our destination. Several hours of walking on the trail with leeches came out many along it. We reach to a river crossing and came to our nightmare that the river has been swallen resulting from the heavy rain. We then making a detour through hunter's trail which even whorse trekking on it with gears. Luckily we had porter carrying some of our luggages.

We reach Tiku when it almost get dark and we know we still have to trek to Buayan. With a torch, we make our way to Buayan in the dark rainforest for another 2 hours then reach Buayan. It such  relief arriving at the village chief's house and we get to clean ourself and dry and then dinner. We check our equipment to make sure its dry. Unfortunately most of our cloths was wet. We just used whichever cloth that is dry, some of us had to borrow from the villages of a dry cloths. That is the first part of our journey.

Next time will be filming Buayan post.

Happy New Year 2010

Yes we made it to another year. 2009 for Borneo Geographic has passed, another exciting year is here. 2010 will be an exciting year for BG. Several places going to be explore, that include a trip to Kalimantan soon together with Borneo Colours. BG also will expand a story posting here which mean it will be not just limited to about Borneo only but other neighbouring asian country too. Asia used to be connected to each other many many years ago until Borneo parted from the asian continent. That is why Borneo still share some similar species of animals and plants with other part of asian.

For share, here are some of the pictures for 2009.
